Fitness in Winter
The first snowflakes have fallen and winter enthusiasts are ready to go. Duluth is home to some of the best winter activities you could want. From snowshoeing the vast hiking trails to cross country skiing and downhill skiing there is something for everyone. If you just want to have fun try taking the family out to the sledding hill. The ride down makes the hike up worth it.
While we wait for the snow to accumulate enough to do these activities we can concentrate on getting in shape for them. The trails, roads and Lakewalk provide a great opportunity for brisk walking or hiking. Be sure to take advantage and get a good cardio base.
If cold weather isn't your thing but you want to walk try the great downtown skywalk system or the Miller Hill Mall. Both are open to walkers during the day. Even better take a look at all the great outdoor clothing options available to make you toasty warm when you are outside having fun.*
